Band Bios
Low Speed Chase plays songs covering the last 50+ years with a focus on the 'CD' era of Rock recordings. This unlikely group of social misfits came together in 2018 to see how loud they could turn up before the neighbors called the cops. Once they answered that question they moved their gear to an abandoned airplane hangar and the rest is history.
• Bobbie Burke - Guitar and Vocals
Bobbie was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus rollin' down Highway 41. A Bloomington native, he once got lost and wandered to central Ohio where he chopped down a tree and whittled it into an electric guitar. He spent a decade playing roots rock on street corners and in various seedy establishments. Eventually he found his way back to Bloomington where John Walbridge introduced him to distortion pedals, and Low Speed Chase was born.
• Sara Walbridge - Guitar and Vocals
Sara is the band's newest member. A Texas native, the band discovered Sara on a park bench in New Mexico playing Opeth covers on french horn. After a quick train ride to Bloomington, Sara picked up a guitar, and immediately filled out the band's sound. Rumor has it her rythm guitar work produces pinch harmonics that cannot be heard by humans, but are particularly soothing to bears and other woodland creatures.
• John Walbridge - Bass and Vocals
John Walbridge grew up playing a one string bass in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It wasn’t long before the bright lights of New Jersey drew him in and then shot him back to the midwest like a giant slingshot. It’s been said that he can frighten small children as effectively as any member of GWAR. John is best known for his bong rattling bass, and to date he has never been asked to turn up by a sound guy.
• Robert Carter - Drums
Captain Bob keeps Low Speed Chase in time with military precision. He spent his younger years travelling the world on a Naval ship to find the best drum beats. Legend had it he once rode Harleys with Frank Zappa. When his world travels were complete he retired to Bloomington where he helped to start the band and make sure the other members didn't try to cut any songs short just because they hadn't learned bridge yet. He has never been seen without his trusty cowbell.
